Wednesday, Caltrans opened 7.5 miles of new carpool lanes on US 50 between Watt Ave and Sunrise Blvd. The new westbound carpool lanes are not open yet. In addition to the new lanes, the project includes new sound walls, new pedestrian overcrossings at Manlove and White Rock roads and improved lighting and landscaping.  PHOTO:  Rancho Cordova Mayor Bob McGarvey is on hand Wednesay for the opening of the eastbound carpool US 50 carpool lane, along with Caltrans' District Director Jody Jones.
